1. Proofreading

$35.00 per 1-10 pages.
I proof your manuscript to remove errors in spelling, sentence structure and,  punctuation. Mistakes in grammar can come across as errors in logic since they certainly confuse the reader, making it appear that the plot of your book are disconnected or flawed. Proofreading focuses on catching the errors such as sentence fragments, subject-verb agreement, pronoun referents, run-ons, ineffective or inappropriate verb forms, and other grammatical errors, especially the ones Microsoft Word's spelling and grammar check routinely ignores. 

1. Editing. I focus on various components in the editing process:

$35.00 per 1-5 pages

      a. Advice and counsel:
I take meticulous care of your book. Therefore, while I am working with you on your manuscript, you will have continual access to me by phone, email or virtually. Communication is an indispensable component of a superior editing service.

      b. Overall structural consistency:
If needed, in this phase of editing I will retype, if necessary, and make sure your structure is developed in a logical sequence. This includes strengthening the relationship between ideas, helping to ensure the essence of your story is clear.

      c. Voice and style:
Once your manuscript is structurally complete, we (you and I) work to enhance your distinctive voice and style, removing ambiguous or inappropriate words and phrases and replacing them with ones that are specific and apposite. This makes your writing more professional and more consistent, while maintaining your voice.
